The pie charts illustrate the proportion of water being distributed to six regions around the world for numerous intentions.
Overall, while a large amount of water is allocated for agriculture use, the other two purposes, namely domestic and industrial, receive relatively trivial capacity of water.
Looking at the charts, apart from North America and Europe, all other regions witness a massive amount of water being channeled into agricultural activities, with figures ranging from 71% to 88%. In detail, agriculture notably takes up a significant water proportion of 88% in Central Asia, which synonymously spares only 12% for the other two sectors. Moreover, Africa and Southeast Asia experience a common trend, with agriculture use overtaking 84% and 81% respectively the total amount of water provided for the regions. However, North America and Europe splinter most of their water reserve for industrial activities, whereas agriculture only occupies the second place regarding water consumption. Lastly, domestic use appears to receive insignificant shares of regional water, with figures being beneath 20% in all six areas.
