The pie charts compare the reasons why people choose to ride a bike or drive to work.

Overall, health and fitness and less pollution are the main reasons for cycling to work. Meanwhile, the largest proportion of people driving to work make their choice due to the fact driving is faster than cycling.

Looking at the figures for reasons for cycling, we can see that health and fitness and less pollution have the largest percentage of people choosing, at 30% each. The share of persons riding because of no parking problems ranks second, accounting for 15%. As regards the remaining categories, there are no significant differences in the rate of individuals who prefer riding a bicycle for no cost and faster than driving, at 13% and 12%, respectively.

Turning to the other chart, comfort is the key reason why people choose to drive to work, at 40%. The rate of those deciding to travel by car due to distance to work comes second, at 21%, while 14% persons who drive to work owing to faster than cycling or needing to carry things to work, corresponding. The proportion of individuals who favor driving over cycling on account of safety is 11%.
