The pie chart compares the number of secondary school graduates who decided to have further education or vocation or being unemployed in Australia in a two-decade period from 1980to 2000.

Overall, what stands out of the chart is while in 1980 half of the total graduates went for further education, that figure plummeted in 2000, a little over a third, and the majority of secondary school leavers became employees. An interesting fact is, a minority of school leavers were unemployed in all the three different years.

In 1980, while only one in ten graduates were unemployed, that figure increased by 2% in the following decade. However, the figure slightly dropped in 2000, at 8%. Meanwhile, at the beginning of the period, two-fifth of the young graduates got employed, that percentage incrementally raised in 1990 and 2000, at 50% and 55% respectively.

With regard to further education, the majority of 50% of the new graduates decided to attain that in 1980, the rate dropped in the later decades. Whereas in 1990 and 2000 the highest percentage of secondary school leavers opt for employment, the figure for Further education declined by 38% and 37% respectively.
