The pie chart represents the mode of transportation of the people travelling to the university for the year 2004 and 2009. The different vehicles people used for transportation were bus, car, bicycle and train. Some preferred walking to the university instead of using a vehicle. Calibration is done in percentage.
Overall in 2004 mostly people preferred to travel by car which accounts to 51%. Bus was the second most used mode of transport to travel accounting to 33%. So, 84% of people travelled through bus and car in 2004. Remaining 16% travelled through train, bicycle or by walking. However in 2009, bus became the most used mode to travel accounting to 46%. Car was used by 28% people. Remaining 26% used bicycle, train or preferred walking.
Hence, by observing the trend in both the years, mostly people prefer to use bus and car as the mode of transport to travel to the university. Some people prefer bicycling. But the least preferred modes were to travel by train or walking.
