The given charts reveal the data of the proportion of using five different means of transport to travel to one university in a 5-year period from 2004.
Overall, it is clear that among all the mentioned vehicles, car and bus - the two most prevalent means - were widely used. Meanwhile, citizens were not keen on traveling by train and on foot.
In 2004, more than a half of people drove cars to school. Therefore, automobiles ranked the highest in the number of people using, followed by it were buses which was only slightly lower than cars , at 33% occupied the second highest position. In the next 5 years, an opposite pattern occurred with these 2 figures. In detail, the number of car users decreased significantly to 28% , while a rise of more than 10% was seen in the proportion of those who traveled by bus
Moreover there were still a few people not choosing car or bus. Instead, cycling, walking and going by train were their means of transport. Just about 3% and 4% citizens preferred to go to university by train and walking respectively. These numbers finally slightly climbed up to 4 and 6% . However, they were still the least common means of transport used. In addition, only 9% of commuters enjoyed riding a bike, which was about three times the percentage of train passengers. In the final year. the rate of bike riders also increased by 7%
