The three maps allow us to see the changes at West Park Secondary School since 1950, when it was built, to 2010.
In 1950 the school was situated on the main road of the city with a play area at the back, that it could be used by children during the break time. On the left of the school there was a farm, one of the most important of the city, formed by a row of three houses and a farmland.
In 1980 farm’s business didn’t go well, so the owners decided to sell the entire land, which included the three houses that faced the main road.
That area was used to expand the school, adding a science block, a car park and a sport field, the latter to the left of the playground.
In 2010 the number of the students grew, therefore the headmaster decided to increase the car park area resizing the sport field that it became smaller.
