In the map we can see some changes in the town centre since 1700.
The greatest changes that have been made are on the streets. Now there is a new big road, The Steggle Road, that divides the centre from the river, replacing the old Steggle Farm. On the right of the map we can see that the Market Street has been improved too with a zebra crossing. On the High Street now there is a set of traffic light at the junction with the Steggle Road, and a roundabout at the crossing with the Market Street.
On the top, the Goode Farm has been replaced by a car park and some houses, while the Market Square and the church haven't been changed. Only the Hotel has been expanded. In the Stables area now there is a block of flats and below them, crossing the St. Peter's Lane, a supermarket has been built.
Overall the number of the houses and shops has grown.
