The diagram below show the development of the village of Kelbey between 1780 and 2000.
The three pictures compare the layouts of the village of Kelbey in three years, namely 1780, 1860, and 2000.
It is clear that there were noticeable changes in the layout of this village over the period shown. The main modification included the removal of farmland as well as a wooded area, and the addition of many modern buildings.
Looking at the map in more detail, we can see that in 1780 there were 100 homes in the northeast of the map without traffic infrastructures. After 80 years, the new bridge and the road in the western part of the map were constructed in order to connect 200 homes with the other side of the river. In addition, the farmland and wooded area on the right side of the river were reduced in size to make way for many new infrastructures.
In 2000, many shops were built along the river, while a wetland for birds was also added. Furthermore, the residential area was expanded with 300 new homes. Finally, the farmland and wooded area were removed completely to give a place to new roads, two schools and three sport fields
