The flow chart illustrates information about the stages of making lead pencils.
It can clearly be seen that there are twelve steps for lead pencil manufacturing. In the first step, the trees are planted from seeds, and in the last step, the final products are packed and ready for selling to customers.
At the beginning of the process, the seeds are put into the soil and the trees are planted again after four months. In the following three years, the forest is thinned in order to choose the highly qualified trees, which are chopped into logs after 14 years. As soon as thin slats are sawn from the logs, they are treated with some particular chemicals for two months.
Next, grooves are cut into the slats, and a special glue is applied. A black lead is then inserted into each groove, and a second slat is placed on top to form a sandwich structure. This sandwich form is heated and hard-pressed to bond into a single piece. Then this one is sliced into individual pencils. In the final stages, the pencils are colored, sharpened, and labeled with brand information. Finally, they are packaged and prepared for distribution to consumers.
