The chart illustrates the process of generating electric power by utilizing hydroelectric power station. Overall, the station is constructed on a river and works in two phases, which happens in the daytime and nighttime.

First of all, the whole process is based on the water pressure that appears between a high-level and low-level reservoirs, which are connected by a pump and a power station. When the dam is opened during the day, the water freely flows to the power station and low-level part of the river. At night water is pumped inversely, back into the high-level basin, while an intake is closed.

The turbines that are located inside the power station are the key part of electricity generation. They have an ability to spin in both directions, therefore usage varies from day to night. The flowing water makes the turbines operate a generator, which produces electricity through physical power. Followingly, energy is delivered to a national grid with power lines. Turbines' additional function is to pump water into a high-level reservoir at night time.
