The diagram below shows the loading and unloading operation of container ships. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features.

The diagram describes the process of transferring cargoes from a vessel to a gate.

In general, it can be seen in the diagram that this is a loop process starting from picking cargoes from a quay crane and ending with delivering it to the gate, reversely. Another noticeable feature is that 2 cranes, namely the quay crane and the RMG crane, play an essential role in handling goods.

In the first stage of the process, when the vessel arrives at the seaport, containers from the cargo compartment are picked from a gigantic quay crane and delivered to the container yard for the unloading process. Cargoes then are transferred from the container block to the vehicles and moved to the gate to finish the last stage.

On the other hand, the cargo transportation process can start from the gate where container trucks and trains deliver freights through a gate and move to the container yard. They are also stacked and rearranged by the electric-driven rubber tire gantry crane to prepare for the last loading step. Finally, freights are also transferred by vehicles to a quay crane for loading onto the vessel
