The charts below represent the average proportion of sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars in the consumption of the USA’s typical meals.
In general, it can be seen that dinner meals consumed the highest percentage over 3 features. The lowest one belonged to breakfast meal consumption.
It is noticeable that most families spend most of their time eating nutrients while having dinner with 43% of using sodium, 37% of saturated fat, and 23% of added sugar. There was a slight difference in the consumption of nutrients while having lunch. While households consumed 29% of sodium, the number decreased by 3% when using saturated fat, and only 19% of added sugar was used.
In contrast, while the highest percentage of using nutrients belonged to dinner meals, launch meals had the lowest percentage with only 14% of sodium, 16% for both saturated fat and added sugar. Unlike launch meals, the percentage of using snacks witnessed a huge difference with 42% using added sugar. This number decreased to half while using saturated fat and only 14% of sodium was used.
