Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given process illustrates the water circulation in nature.
Overall, there are three main stages, beginning with the water evaporation and ending with the salt water intrusion. It is also noticeable that there are two main places for the water to go after falling to the ground.
At the beginning of the process, water volatilizes into the air by the sun’s heat. It is estimated that around 80% of water vapor originates from the ocean. A mass of water droplets is condensed to form clouds.
At the second phase of the process named precipitation, water drops fall to the ground in the forms of snow and rain. They are kept within the sunken land, which creates ponds and lakes afterwards. Otherwise, the water runoff is absorbed by the ground then goes on flowing through the impervious layer. Finally, when it nearly returns to the ocean, it is mingled with salt water flows, which is called salt water intrusion. The natural cycle continues again.
