Essay topics:

The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagrams illustrates the processes occurring in a wave-energy machine and the two possible locations for the machine. The first diagram shows the different parts of the machine and its function. Meanwhile, the second diagram provides the best locations for various type of waves

The wave-energy machine consist of different parts such as the electricity generator and the turbines with few chambers. It is clearly shown that the air flow and the wave direction help pushes and increases the water level which allows the air flow to go up through the chambers. The air flows resulted in the movement of the turbines in which will generates the motor.

From the second diagram, there are two locations that are normally use in installing the machines. With large waves, the machines are put in a deeper side of the water which generates a higher output. Hence, the installation cost is higher. However the lower installation cost is possible for the machine that is positioned in the higher location. Due to the small waves in that area, therefore, the output of the machines is low.
