The figures illustrate from the beginning to the adult stages of salmon. The salmon needs to pass three stages to change to adult and the lifespan is about a decade.
The first step is that the adult salmon goes back to upper river where the water is slow moving. After they reached upper river, they look for the reeds and small stones in tend to lay the eggs. The 3-8 cm long fries emerged from the eggs between the stones after staying in eggs long from 5 to 6 months approximately.
Then, the fries go to the fast flowing place of lower river and they spend about 4 years at there. At this step, the young salmon called smolt developed to 12-15 cm. The next step is that the smolts travel to the open sea and waste the half of their lives (approximately 5 years) at there. At the final, 70-76 cm adult salmon back to upper river and end their life cycle.
