The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children’s sports between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in Britain over the same time period.
The given line graphs illustrate average monthly spending of British parents to their children’s sport activities and children’s participation on three different sports between 2008 and 2014.
It is clear that each year the amount of money spent on children’s sport activities increased significantly. Number of children which involved in given sports also rose over the 6-year period.
In 2008, the total amount of spending of parents to children’s sport were around 20 pounds per month. By 2014, this expenditure had risen gradually that reached a peak of more than 30 pounds at the end of the period.
Looking at the participation numbers of children in 3 different sports, it seems that in 2008 the figures for participation in each sport were nearly in the least amount of all times, while the football was the most popular sport among British children with participation of 7.5 million and taking part on swimming and athletics were under the 2.5 million. In 2014, the participation in football remained nearly the same, however children joined to swimming and athletics increased nearly twice that reached around 4 and 5 million respectively.
