the following two pie charts show the results of survey into the popularity of various leisure activities among European adults in 1995 and 1985
The charts illustrate the proportion of recreational activities which adults spent time in Europe in 1985 and 1995.
Overall, as can be seen, Europe people tended to take their major time to sit in front of the TV screen and playing computer games became one of the most prevalent activities in 1995.
The most striking feature was the number of people who watched TV as their main leisure activities, around 32% in 1985 and slightly decreased to 30% in the next 10 years. By contrast, the figure for communicating with friends had a moderate rise from 21% in 1985 to 26% in 1995.
Talking with the beloved ones and eating out took a high position in 1985 approximately 18% and 23% respectively, however, they all significantly dropped just hovering from 7 to 8 % 10 years later. At the same time, there was a dramatic growth in playing computer games, about 27%.
