Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Spending money on the railways should be prioritized instead of roads by the government. I partially agree with this statement because, it is important to improve railways since it is cheaper and easily accessible for people. However, roads are very important when it comes to logistics which uses roads for transport.
Nowadays, people-mostly youngsters are involved in political issues and vocaling out their opinion. In other words, as a citizen, we should give some thought in the annual budget government makes. It is important and essential to improve the railway system which can improve the comfort of the passengers since it is one of the most used public transports. If some of these improvements are implied, citizens can be benefited in many ways. For example, senior citizens usually get body fatigue from traveling long distance. However, by improving the seating configuration and material used in seats it can help them to reduce those kinds of fatigue. So, it is important to improve railways but, is it the most important investment that government have to take?
It is also important to develop the roadways simultaneously because, it can be useful in many different ways. For instance, most logistics use roads for transporting goods between states. In fact, it is reported recently that, more accidents are happening due to poor maintenance of roads. If those roads are maintained well enough those accidents would not have happened and those lives could have been saved. Moreover, people who uses roads in their day-to-day life can benefit from this as well.
In conclusion, I think government should be balanced in the developments they make. Ignoring a certain area and developing other areas can lead to serious issues. In my opinion, both roads and railways have to be developed and should be given equal importance.
