The graph line illustrate the period of time immigrants living in the UK from 2000 to 2008 as well as the reason why they tended to emirate this country.
From an overall perspective, while the number of individuals who have the trend to live in the United Kingdom up to 2 years witnessed a notable changes, the figure of 4 or more years were still remained unchanged. Furthermore the reason for migration for working purposes were also the highest figure.
It is clear to observe from the graph that the number of immigrants’ length up to two years in Britain experienced an upward trend from 2000 to 2004 and peaked at 250 thousand in 2004. Then, the more than two years figure still remained unchanged and had a downward trend at 2006 while the line of four or more years was still intact through 8 years. The two to four years data fluctuated slightly around 50 to 100 thousand immigrants and trailing behind to 2006 with an upward trend onwards.
Compared to the pie chart of reasons for migration, working data comprised approximately a quarter of Britain’s length of intended stay in 2008, at 38% and was the biggest proportion. According to this data, studying purposes was the second highest in this chart which occupied 32% in terms of percentage. While the company/Join family reasons accounted for 16%, the no reason stated and other purposes were the same figure at 7%.
