Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The following graph depicts how many tourists made a visit of a specific Caribbean island during 2010 till 2017.
As can be clearly observed from the graph, there are two distinctive types of visitors including the visitors who stayed on the island and the visitors who stayed on cruise ships. Unlike the year of 2012 which the number of cruise ships’ stayers experienced a dramatic decrease in comparison with 2011 and reached near 200000, there was a sharp climb between 2013 to 2017 from around 200000 visitors to about 2 million of tourists.
In addition, from 2010 till 2011 the number of visitors who preferred to stay on the island remained fixed approximately 700000 of visitors. Whereas the island-stayers went up significantly from around 0.7 million to 1.5 million between 2011 until 2013, throughout the following three years, this kind of visitors’ number maintained its stability. It witnessed a slight decline in 2016 to around 1.2 million visitors, however it touched the previous peak again which was 1.5 million.
It is clear from the graph that the total number of tourists rose drastically from about one million of visitors in 2010 to 3.5 million in 2017. Despite the other two types, the sum of tourists had almost a monotone increase during all eight years of the period.
