The graph below compares changes in the birth rates of China and the USA between 1920 and 2000

A glance at the graph provided manifests the USA and Chinese fertility correspondent of a period from 1920 to 2000. Although there is no dependence of fertility and the period of that time, there is some striking similarities between birth rates of two countries.

Increasing steadily from around 10 percent to 15 percent from 1920 to 1935, Chinese’s fertility faced with marked decline to 5 percent to about 1937. Then it remained without change from 1937 to 1943. In the following, fertility of china experienced an astronomically growth from 5 percent in 1943 to 20 percent in 1948. After that, fertility of china fell to approximately 2 percent in 2000.

About the American fertility, a fluctuation can be seen so that in which the amount of birth rate was confined to a narrow range and varied from about 11 percent in 1920 to 13 percent in 1937. In the continue, the USA fertility came across with V shape change with a minimum of about 5 percent in 1943 as well as with an increase to 15 percent in 1946. In the following, like the Chinese fertility , it dropped to 7 percent in 2000.

It is interesting to note that while in the incipient year, 1920, the discrepancy between two countries birth rates was a few, in the 2000 it was at least five times.
