The graph below gives information from 1 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph compares the number of six different fuels consumed in America from 1980 to 2030
Overall, it can be seen from the chart that there has been an increase the consumption of six fuels. In addition, fossil fuels have been used more prevalent than alternative energy sources.
While coal has gone up slightly annually from over 15 quads to around 30 quads except for leveling off between 1995 and 2005, natural gas standing at 20 quads was on several variations until 2015, followed by a plateau and ending with 25 quads. The largest volume among three fossil fuels has been petrol oil with 35 quads in 1980 and its comsumption will still maintain the first rank at just under 50 quads.
Nuclear, hydropower, solar and wind composed at the same point less than 5 quads. While nuclear has climbed slowly every year, solar and wind experienced certain fluctuations before 2010. For the renewable energy sources, the prediction is that its figures will be on a minimal rise just under 10 quads, especially hydropower will record the lowest point.
