The graph below gives information about U.S. government spending on the research between 1980 and 2008
The line graph illustrates how much is the government's expenditure on research in five fields period from 1980 to 2008
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the U. S spent the largest money for Health. Conversely, the least amount of money was spent on the research General Science
In 1980, around $8 billion was used for Health, compared to about $3 of General Science. In the next 4 years, the expense for Health experienced a slight decrease, while the cost of General Science continual remained around $3 billion. Since 1984, the figures for Health skyrocketed like a rocket and reached a peak of nearly 23 billion in 2004. Despite declining back to approximately 18 billion in 2008. However, it still was the highest. In the same time, the amount of money added to General Science increased and kept stable at 5 billion from 2000 to 2008.
The quantity of money was spent on research into Energy, Space and the Other at about 5 billion, 6 billion and 7.5 billion, respectively. Surprisingly, the figures for three indexes similar to at 5 billion in 1984. Meanwhile, the expenditure on Energy and Space gradually went up at 7.5 billion and approximately 10 billion in 2008. Despite the expense's Other coming back to its original level in 2000 but finally, it dropped to 5 billion in 2008
