The given bar chart illustrates the employment percentage distribution of men and women falling under the age bracket of 60 to 64 in four different countries(Belgium, USA, Japan and Indonesia) over a time span of two seperate years (1970 and 2000) respectively.
Overall, it is observed that the employability rate of men remained higher in both the years as compared to women. Moreover, the percentage of people being employed was higher in 1970 than in 2000.
In the year 1997, the number of men employed in Belgium, Japan and Indonesia were considerably higher than women . In all the three countries, men lead women in terms of employment by almost around 20% as opposed to a marginal differencce of approximately 6% in the USA.
Going forward, this gap of employability rates widened even more in countries like Belgium and USA where men overtook women by a whopping 40% increase. This was then followed by 30% jump in Indonesia .Lastly, the marginal increase of around 6% among both genders was observed only in Japan.
