The line graph illustrates the average monthly variation in prices of three kinds of metal, including copper, nickel, and zinc, over the course of the year 2014.
Overall, throughout the year 2014, while the change rate in the cost of copper and nickel showed a decrease, zinc witnessed a slight increase in its price rate. Additionally, the chart showed a fluctuation in the rank of nickel and zinc.
Regarding nickel, in the first half of the year 2014, Nickel started from 6% in January exhibited a significant decrease and reached 1% in March. Continually falling, three months after that, nickel was standing at the bottom of the chart, at -3 in June. Quickly it rebounded again in the next six months, despite a fall in October, and displayed 1% change in its price in December 2014.
Enter the variation in the cost of copper and zinc. Both these two metals were less pronounced compared with nickel. Started at 2% in January, copper start decreasing the next five months and stopped at about -0.5% in May. Then, it increased and reach 1.5% at the end of 2014. Meanwhile, zinc was the metal that had the lowest modification in its price at the beginning, then it increased to 3% in February and quickly declined the next 4 months, at -1 in June. In the end, this element demonstrated a significant change when standing in the top one of three metals that witnessed the highest increment in December 2014.
