The provided line chart illustrates how senior citizens in Europe used their spare time in the previous 30 years from 10980 to 2010.
As can be seen from the line chart, there was a dramatical increase in the proportion of hiking throughout three decades. Additionally, despite of many fluctuations, at the end of time frame, almost the percentage of activities were higher than that at the beginning, except theatre activities.
It is clear that physical activities are favorite activities of the elder in Europe within three decades. Evidently, the proportion of hiking rose sharply from 20% to 80%. At the same time, the figure for playing sport activities always higher than the rest activities, account for more than 60%.
With regard to the non-physical activities, the year 1980s to 2010s saw the strongly growth in the percentage of reading and surfing the Internet activities. Both of them were more than a half in 2010s, whereas just made up 30% and under 10% in 1980s. On the other hand, theatre was the only non-physical activities in which elderly people spent less time for.
