The graph below shows the number of overseas visitors to three different areas of a
European country between 1987 and 2007

The line graph indicates how many international tourists visited three different destinations namely coast, lake and mountain and series 3 in a European nation over 2 decades from 1987 to 2007.

Overall, the numbers of visitors to those 3 areas all increased significantly during that period and, to be particular, lake and mountain experienced the fastest growth in the figures of guests.

In 1990, the statistic of people who went to the coast accounted for the highest among three at 40 thousands. In comparison with this, just about 20 and 10 thousand holidaymakers came to lake and mountain and series 3 respectively. By 2002, the number of travelers to the regions of river and mountain surpassed that to coast and peaked at more than 70 thousand individuals after a period of dramatic growth. Following the same pattern, there’s a moderate increase in the figures of coast to 60 thousands in 2002. Meanwhile, series 3 witnessed a substantial variation to just under 30 thousand guests over the same period.

By 2007, while the figures of visitors to series 3 went up averagely to about 35 thousands, that to lake and mountain fell drastically to 65 thousands. The statistics of coast also decreased to 55 thousands after peaking at 70 thousands in 2006.
