The line graph given compares a nation in Europe in terms of the quantities of foreign tourists to three divergent regions from 1987 to 2007.
It is clear from the graph that during the research period, international individuals tended to go to coastal areas. Additionally, all the figures generally experienced increases in spite of some fluctuations.
In 1987, the coast was the most popular destination among overseas visitors, with exactly 40 thousand people went there, while the number of the lakes and the mountains were 2 times and 4 times as low as that of the coast, at 10 and 20 thousand individuals in that order. To 2002, the figures for the coast and the lakes went up substantially, compared to a steady growth in the quantity of tourists to the mountains.
In 2007, this nation witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of visitors to the coast, to approximately 75 thousand people. By contrast, the figure for the Lakes plummeted to a half of 100 thousand people, whereas there was a slow growth to about 35 thousand people in the number of the mountains.
