The graph provides information about the number of passenger railway journeys in Great Britain in the period of 55 years.

The number of passengers journeys made on the three systems incresead, London Underground having the most dramatic rise.

While in 1950 the Nation rail network had 1 billion passenger journeys being the most popular out of the three, in 1980 the numbers had a sharp decrease to 750 million, followed by a rise, reaching over 1 billion in 2004/5, remaining the system with the most passenger railway journeys.

After 1980, both London Underground and nation rail network had very similar numbers throughout that period, rising to almost 1,1 billion in 2004/5. The light rail & metro systems numbers fluctuated slightly, followed by a steady rise, reaching nearly 250 million by the end of the report.

The period ended with the national rail network on the first place, followed by London Underground with a slightly lower number, just under 1 billion.
