Overall, the total number of tourists coming to the island had climbed up over the years. Although the number of visitors staying on the island was high before 2015, most of the visitors, since 2016, chose to stay on the cruise ships.
In 2010 and 2011, a little over half a million travelers stayed on the island which increased dramatically to 1.5 million in 2013 and settled there for till 2015. Even though the number went down to less than that in 2016, it again reached to 1.5 million in 2017. On the other hand, around 0.5 millions of tourists stayed on the cruise ships from 2010 to 2013. However, since 2013, the number of tourists staying on the ships had sky-rocketed each years and reached 2 millions in 2017.
Only 1 million people had visited the Caribbean island in 2010 which had a steady increase of incoming guests and reached a 3.5 million tourists in 2017.
