It is clear that the total number of visitors increased gradually from 2010 to 2017. The most dramatic rise was seen in the figure of visitors staying on cruise ships.
In 2010, the total number of people traveling to the island was about 1 million. The period from 2010 to 2013 witnessed a fluctuation of visitors who chose to stay on cruise ships. On the other hand, the given figure for visitors staying on the island rose gradually to 1.5 million in 2013.
From this point onwards, the number of total travelers reached a peak of 3.5 million in 2017. The number of visitors staying on the island sector had remained stable for 3 years, and it was a fluctuation in the last 2 years.
