To be more specific, in 2000, the number of citizens in India were about 1 billion. Whereas, there were more people in China than India which stood around 1.25 billion of Chinese people. As it progress throughout the years, it is expected that both nations would have a steady growth over the next 30 years, reaching approximately 1.45 billion of population.
After that, China will see a slight decline to just under 1.4 billion, by 2050. While the population in India will grow continually and reach 1.6 billion. In fact, India is going to surpass Chinese population by 2030 after accounting the same figure as China.
