The line graph illustrates information about the percentage of senior citizens in the three different nations during the period of a century from 1940 to 2040.
Overall, the figures were recorded and predicted with an upward trend about the number of elders in all three nations during the period given.
The percentage of elders in Japan, Sweden and USA started at roughly 5%, 7% and 9% respectively in 1940. The percentage of elders in USA witnessed a minor change, increasing slightly from 9% to 14% in 2019, while that of those in Sweden soared rapidly before surpassing the figures in USA, 20% compared with 14% in 2019. In addition, the figures in Sweden and USA are being predicted to sharply soar up to a peak of roughly 24% and 23% in 2040.
In contrast, the percentage of senior citizens in Japan relatively remained constant from 1940 to 2019 after downs and ups. The figures, however, in Japan show a projected explosion, starting at roughly 7% in 2019 before increasing rapidly to a peak of roughly 27% during the next 20 years.
