The bar chart provides data about how much income that romance films, comedies and action/horror films made for a studio in Hollywood between 1970 and 2000. In general, the percentages of the romance films declined significantly, and the figure for comedies remained quite stable. Simultaneously, although the action/ horror movies witnessed a tremendous increase, this genre started at the lowest contributor before becoming the highest at the end of the period.

As the graph shown, in 1970, the proportion of revenue generated by romance films was over 50%, which was the highest data. Then, the figure for the romance started to drop slightly too nearly 40% in 1980 before a dramatic decrease to the lowest figure in 2000, which was less than 10%. As regard to comedies, the percentage incomes increase slightly from about 33% approximately 35% in the first ten years. However, the figures for this genre soon decreased gradually and finally stood at 30% in 2000.

In contrary, action/ horror films accounted for less than 10% of the revenue at the start of the period, but their contribution increased steadily at approximately 15% and nearly 20% in 1980 and 1990, respectively. Subsequently, the figure soared to nearly 40% in 2000, making this genre the greatest source of revenue.
