The line chart illustrates the percentage of jobless in Ireland and the number of people moving to other coutries during the period of 10 years starting from 1998.
Overall, there were significant fluctuations in unemployment rate and the number of people migrating between 1998 and 2008. It is also noticeable that there was the same increasing trend in both datas at the end period.
In 1998, citizens unemployed in Ireland were the highest at 14%, while people migrating are much lower at 40.000 people. In the following 2 years, citizens leaving soared by 30.000 people, by contrast, jobless substantially decreased by 13%. By 2000, the percentage of unemployment was witnessed a sharp declining trend and hit a low of under 6%. Similarly, the number of people who flock to other countries experienced a falling trend to nearly 30.000 people.
By 2008, there were a considerable increasing trend in the number of citizens who leaving from Ireland reached at more than 40.000 people, which approximately balanced the figure in the first year. Likewisely, the similar trend could be seen when we looked at the percentage of jobless stood at 10%, however, this figure was much smaller than that in 1998.
