The table illustrates the percentage of surfers in the top ten countries in the year 2016.
Overall, China was the leading country with the highest number of internet users, while Mexico accounted for the lowest. Additionally, the UK was top in the list of the percentage of surfers, whereas India was the least in surfers rate.
As for citizens using the internet, China dominated the list with the largest number ( over 721 million people), which also is a half of the country’s total population, followed by the figure for India and the US, ranking 2nd and 3rd at nearly 462 and 286 respectively. By contrast, Mexico had the lowest percentage of surfers ( just over 58 million people), accounting for nearly a half of the country’s total population.
Regarding to the proportion of internet users, the percentage of internet users in the United Kingdom accounted for the biggest with over 92%, however, the total population of this country was the smallest with just over 65 million people. The similar trend was witnessed in Japan, where Internet users was at over 115 million people, making up over 91% of the country’s total population. After which, the figures for the US and Germany were the same with nearly 88%.
