The given line graph illustrates the proportions of joblessness in the three regions: the UK, Europe and Japan between 1993 and 2007.
Overall, the percentage of unemployment in the country of Japan increased, while the unemployment percentages of the other two areas decreased. It is also noticeable that Europe was the region with the highest unemployment rate in the final year.
Regarding the period from 1993 to 1999, Japan began at exactly 2%, as the lowest percentage, then it rose to around 3% and remained unchanged until 1999. Europe took up the percentage which was more than 4 times higher than Japan, then it grew to almost 12% and dropped to precisely 10% in the end. The proportion of joblessness in the UK was over 5 times higher than that in Japan in the beginning, and then fell steadily to about 6% in 1999.
Concerning the rest of the provided time, Japan increased to 6% in 2003 and decreased by 2% in the final year, standing at the lowest level. Europe saw a stable fall to the figure which was nearly 2 times higher than Japan’s, as the top position. The UK’s joblessness rate dropped slight in 2001 and leveled out during the next 4 years before growing to 6% in the end.
