An overall view shows that the average costs of cell phone services experienced an upward trend, while the residential phone services experienced a downward trend. However, in 2006 both services cost $550.
In the first stage, in 2001, the amount of money spent by Americans on residential phone services was around $700, while the cell phone services were accounted at $200. It is noticed that within one year only, the cell phone services cost increased almost by $100 and on the other hand the residential phone services decreased by the same amount.
Reaching 2006, the meeting point, there was a significant rise in the cost of the cell phone services until it reached almost $750. As for the residential services, it showed a remarkable fall, after 2006, reaching almost $400 in 2010.
