The graphs below ashow information about the weekly work hours in Australia in 2001.

The three pie charts illustrate the amount of working hours of Australian workers divided into two groups, the employees and the employers, and by time distributions.

In general, the total workforce of Australia comprised of 8.8 million people, most of them was hired. There was about 2 million of those was owners/managers. It can be seen from the charts that 40% of the total workforce working in long hours, which were over 41 hours per week, while about one third of them took a part-time jobs, and 27% worked from 35 to 40 hours a week.

Among 6.9 million employees, the majority of those chose to work part-time (38%). 33% was recorded to be worked in long hours and 29% was having a full-time jobs.

In contrast to that, the owners/managers had a different working time distribution. Specifically, more than a half of those spent time working in long hours whereas only approximately 20% and 15% chose to work full-time and part-time respectively.
