The graphs presented, provide data on the number of Australian workers sorted by age and gender in 1973 and 1993.
As seen, the first and the third graphs illustrate the percentages of male employees in a stable career and of those in a temporary one. In 1973 more than 80% of teenagers were already working full-time, than compared to 1993 when that number decreased slightly to 70%. The volume of working hand from age 25-29, 35-39 and 39-45, remained almost constant. Employed males over the age of 65 were less than 10%. In 1973 the adolescent men in part-time positions were less than 10%. That number only goes with the increase of age. In 1993 the amount of young people in a temporary position fell drastically from 25% to less than 10%. This statement holds true to the other age groups.
The second and forth graph show figures relevant to women in occupation. During 1973 and 1993 the largest percent of female workers with a stable job were from age 15-19. For ages 25-45 the percent goes down to 30 and 35, respectively. Working women from age 55-59 and 65+ are a merely 2%. Similarly, only 10% of teenage girls had a side-earning in 1973. That figure reaches a peak of 20% with workers of age 35-39. However, in 1993 the figures follow the same tendency, however, this time the largest number is 35%.
