he chart shows the percentage of women and men in one Asian country who passed when they took their driving test between 1980 and 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

The bar chart detailed indicates percentile figures for females and males who succeeded in their driving test in one Asian country, divided into four decades from 1980 to 2010.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the passing rates has increased for both sexes. Also noticeable is that women had a higher proportion throughout the period despite a slight decline towards the end.

Looking initially, both sexes maintained the prevailing trends in the 90s with 49% of women passing their driving test in 1980, in comparison to 29% of men. By 1990, the number for both women and men rose to 51% and 38% respectively.

From there, these trends diverged with the percentages of women succeeding in their driving test hitting a peak of 69% in 2000 before dropping marginally to 64% to conclude the period. Ultimately, the statistics for men grew in 2000 and this figure remained the same at roughly a half for the final two decades in the question.
