The given chart compares the proportions of players of violin, guitar, piano and drum among students over a period of ten years, starting from 2005.

It is evident that guitar and piano had the highest figures for players and also experienced significant growth over the period with the guitar remaining the favourite musical instrument for school children. However, drum and violin shared an unremarkable growing pattern when there were no noticeable changes in their percentages.

In 2005, the figures for both guitar and piano stood at around 10%. Surprisingly, the statistic of guitar rose drastically to reach its peak at about 27% in 2015, which also helped it preserve its position as the most-played instrument among students. Moreover, a similar growing feature was seen in the proportion of school children choosing piano as their entertainment source with its figure standing at 25% in 2015, 2.5 times higher than that in 2005.

On the other hand, standing at around 6% and 8% in 2005 in players for drum and violin respectively, those figures remain almost unchanged in the next five years. At the end of the period, the percentage of students deciding to play the drums was only about 8%, while that of the violin was around 7%.
