Displayed in the diagram are the processes of how chocolates are made.
Overall, it can be observed that the methods of manufacturing dark chocolates involves ten systematic steps.
The procedure begins in countries’ such as South America, Africa, and Indonesia, where cacao farms are situated. In these farms ripe red cacao pods are carefully selected in every tree. After harvesting, white cacao bean are collected through slicing the pods in half. then the third step starts with placing all the gathered white beans into a large rectangular container that are left to ferment. Thereafter, fermented beans go through the drying process wherein the beans are spread out evenly in a rectangular shaped receptacle and are then laid under the heating sun to ensure that all moisture are stripped out of the beans. Once dried, the beans are stored in huge sacks and is now ready for transport to the respective factories.
Upon arrival to the factory, the dried sacks of cacao beans are then subjected for roasting. In this stage beans are baked in a high temperature oven. then the roasted beans are brought to the grinning section, wherein, beans are crushed in to tiny pieces cracking open its outer shells. The shells are then sorted out and are discarded. The last stage then follows with the pressing of the bean’s inner layer. The beans turns into liquid and the by product are the chocolates.
