Japanese average monthly salary
The presented line chart demonstrates the average income that Japanese were received per month and the cost of TV, include color TV, and black and white TV during 30 years.
Overall, the Japanese salary increased higher and higher year by year. Meanwhile, the price of color TV, and black and white TV experienced the significant drop.
In 1953, each Japanese was paid nearly 20 thousands Yen per month. Then, there was a stable tendency in the Japanese income in the next 10 years, around 20 thousands Yen. Interestingly, the amount of money was paid for Japanese saw a high rise in its number which climbed to 30 thousands Yen in 1973 and more than 30 thousands Yen in few years later. From 1973 to 1983, Japanese experienced the dramatical increase in the average monthly salary which stayed nearly 70 thousands Yen in the last year, triple than the started point.
In term of the cost of TVs, the black and white appeared first in 1953 and was costed 110 thousands Yen. Then, this figure dropped remarkably in the 1960s which was under 40 thousands Yen. At the same time, the color TV was sold and its price was 100 thousands Yen, 60 thousands Yen more than the price of black and white TV. However, both saw a decrease in the value of them, under 30 thousands Yen for a black and white TV, 30 thousands Yen less than a color TV in 1973. Finally, the cost of black and white TV fell out and stayed at 20 thousands Yen while that of color TV was under 50 thousands Yen.
