The given line graph provides data on the unemployment levels of Spain, Germany and Italy from 1995 to 2005 while the table demonstrates the proportion of male and female in the workforce of these countries in the year 1991.
In 1991, Spain had the highest unemployment rate at about 13%. And then, it experienced a spike before hovering at 18% between 1993 and 1995. From 1995 onwards, a general change could be seen in the situation with the marginal drop of this figure to nearly 9% at the end of the said period. On the contrary, Germany saw a reversed pattern, it started at 4 percent but showing some minor fluctuations and peaking at almost 12% by 2005. Italy’s rate oscillated less than these two nations, starting and finishing at 8% over time and reaching a maximum of 12% during the period 1997 and 1999.
Regarding the table, in 1991, just over half of the Germany women were working compared with three-quarters of men. But in Spain, just under a third of the females were employed and a third of the males were not. Italy saw the similar pattern with the propotion of men and women in the workforce were 77.1% and 37.8% respectively.
Overall, the percentage of citizens who were out of job in Italy and Spain showed downward trends whereas this segment of Germany saw an upward trajectory.
