The map compares the layout of a village in Rye mouth throughout the period 1995 and now. It is obvious that plenty of modern infrastructures were constructed at the cost of demolishing the forest park and the commercial fishing area.
The most important change that the village underwent is the disappearance of the fishing port and the nearby fish market, as well as the shops on the opposite side of the road. Nowadays, some apartments are located along the seaside instead of the fish market. Of particular note is that people living there, just by passing the road behind their apartments, can reach a chain of restaurants which have been built at the old position of the previous shops.
Next to the hotel, a car park has been constructed to serve people now that in modern society car become more and more popular. The housing area shows a little difference with a slight increase in the number of houses. Also, the road towards a small housing development is extended further to the west of the village. The farmland and the forest park in the upper-right corner are converted into a luxurious area with a golf course and tennis courts. Lastly, the café is the only thing that has no change after many years.
