The line graph below shows the household recycling rates in three different countries between 2005 and 2015.

The line graph illustrates the proportion of household recycling in three nations (UK, France, Germany) over a period from 2005 to 2015.
Overall, the percentage experienced an upward trend in UK and Germany, contrast to a downward trend in France.
In particular, the percentage of UK was around 35% in the beginning, then increasing marginally by 5% to 40% in 2007 and remained stable in 2009. However, in the next 2 years, UK underwent a significant soar by nearly 15% to 55% in 2011. During 4 years from 2011 to the end of the research (2015), it continued to rise and reached a peak at 60% in the last year.
Germany, which started at the lowest rate in three countries (20%), had the most considerable and gradual growth by almost 25% to around 45% in 6 years ( from 2005 to 2011). In the next four years, a marked and steady increase to just over 60% in 2015 was recorded.
The last country was France, whose rate stood at 50%, the highest rate in the first year of the research. However, in the next 8 years, a significant slump by 20% to reach the bottom at 30% in 2011 was recorded.By the end of the research, the proportion of household recycling increased slightly by 10% to 40%; therefore, France became the country which had the lowest rate in 2015.
