The given line graph illustrates the proportion of travelers to Scotland frequenting four distinguished tourist destinations namely Aquarium, Castle, Zoo and Festival over the period of 30 years starting in 1980.
Overall, an upward trend was seen in the percentage of tourists visiting Castle and Zoo whereas the opposite was true for Festival and Aquarium. It is noticeable that Castle was the most popular tourist attraction over the period.
As can be seen from the line graph, the percentage of tourists choosing to visit Castle was nearly 25%, roughly twice as much as that to the Zoo, at 10%. The proportion for Zoo travelers witnessed a minor fluctuation from 10% to 15% during the first 20 years, then rising substantially to 20% in the last year. The percentage of Castle visitors saw a dramatic growth to reach a peak of 45% in 1995, followed by a considerable drop from 1995 to 2010
In terms of the remaining attraction, in 1980, Festival was the most attractive place in Scotland with 30% tourists compared to / in comparison with 20% for Aquarium. Over the following 5 years, the number of Aquarium visitors peaked at 35% before sharply decreasing / which was followed by a sharp decrease to less than 10% in 2010. Meanwhile / by contrast, the figure for travelers to Festival experienced a steady decline over the period shown / throughout the period, ending at approximately 20%.
