The line graph demonstrates the proportion of tourists visiting four different destinations in Edinburgh, Scotland, in the period 1980 and 2010.
Overall, the highest proportion of visitors concentrate mainly on Castle and Festival locations, while the lowest percentage of them stayed at Zoo and Aquarium attractions. Whereas the numbers of travellers in Aquarium and Festival destinations had a fall between 1980 and 2010, the other two attractions tend to increase.
The tourists who visited Castles have a tendency to rise significantly from under 25% in 1980 to 45% in 1995, and then decreasing to 31% in 2010, climb to the first rank in the percentage of visited travellers from the second rank in 1980. Conversely, Castle destinations which ranked first in 1980, therefore, become the second popular destination in 2010 from 30% in 1980 to 25% in 2010.
From 1980 to 1985, the percentage of visitors to Aquarium attractions increased noticeably from 20% in 1980 to 35% in 1985 but then declined considerably for the next years to only 8% in 2010. Nevertheless, Zoo entertainments begin with only 10% in 1980 but fluctuated constantly and reached 20% in 2010.
